Why was Britain in a better position in 1957 than 1937?
Q. I have to write a history essay about why was Britain in a better position in 1957 than 1937 as far as the lives of ordinary people were concerned. The only reasons I can think of are the NHS was formed, and there was less poverty. Has anyone got any other ideas? Thank you!!

Who was the rider and winner of the 1937 John Rush Streett Memorial steeplechase?
Q. This is a horse race in Maryland, I believe. I bought an antigue clock in Vermont with a plaque that says sixteenth running of the John Rush Streett Memorial 1937. Won by...and rider...but no names. Just curious as to who won it.
