I have court-ordered visitation with my four-year old son, which includes every other holiday. However, we can never agree on what counts as a holiday. It seems like she always says what does and doesn't count so that her holidays fall on the ones she wants. We are in Virginia, and no one seems to have an official holoday "list." I remember being completing alone on Christmas night when I was 16. It was totally horrible. I was crying that night for hours feeling completely alone. That was a long time ago and absolutely a very bad memory. I would say, do not let yourself go into deep repetitive thinking/feeling that you are lonely, because that is what drives you deeper into those meltdowns. Distract yourself by any and all means necessary. Keep your mind busy. Thinking sad thoughts will make you sad. Tell your mind, I am not going there with you.
