A fish is any aquatic vertebrate animal that is typically ectothermic (or cold-blooded), covered with scales, and equipped with two sets of paired fins and several unpaired fins. Fish are abundant in the sea and in fresh water, with species being known from mountain streams (e.g., char and gudgeon) as well as in the deepest depths of the ocean (e.g., gulpers and anglerfish). Food prepared from fish is also called fish, and it is an important food source for humans. Asked by Chris - Sat Mar 17 08:51:15 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. well colourful is ruled out for a start, keeping other colourful fish with bettas is risky, it can stress out the betta, or in the case of male guppys or platys, bettas aren't the smartest sometimes and mistake these for other bettas and may attack. fish that can be kept with bettas tend to be smaller more muted quiet fish, in that size tank you could have a trio or foursome of Otocinclus (providing the tank is mature and has lots of algae for them to eat). Or a trio of Khuli Loaches may just fit, if you have a nice sandy substrate.
