Over the last few years, there have been several instances of contamination of our food supply such as e coli, salmonella, etc. A few years ago, the Democrats introduced legislation that would use bar codes to track which farms produce and meat came from so that if there were an outbreak of some kind, then the food could be traced to its source. Republicans would not pass this legislation. Now with McCain, the government will continue to reduce government staffing that tracks food suppliers, and drive the quality of the food supply even lower. Asked by Diane B - Tue Sep 9 02:15:12 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. HECK NO...there is not enough. I'm convinced that MAD COW disease is already in America. We have the worse tracking of food and its source. Do you watch lou dobbs. He has run an excellent campaign on this; he's always hammering the dummies at the FDA and other regulatory agencies. These agencies are under-staffed and under0trained and under-informed. America's food supply is in a mess. It's a wonder that we aren't sick. It's just by the grace of God because the gross incompetencies of our fine government. Everytime we eat, we need to say a prayer and hope we wake up the next day; it's getting just that serious. we need more regulation. We should be able to buy a cucumber and track it back to the farm it was grown on and what country it… [cont.] Answered by sweetbabyruss - Tue Sep 9 02:20:48 2008 How have low-fat diets affected the fast food industry? Q. McDonalds, Wendy's, and Burger King all are high in fat and everyone knows it. But the question is has it affected the sales of their food? Asked by Holly - Fri Apr 6 14:32:53 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well...there are still tons of people who eat high-fat fast food. None of those companies you mentioned are going out of business anytime soon... ...however, the trend toward healthier eating has forced fast-food companies to accomodate these customers. McDonalds has rolled out premium salads. Wendys allows people to substitute side salads or a baked potato instead of french fries in value meals. Sales aren't down by all that much. People still jam the drive-thrus at lunch hour. But now, the healthier eaters at least have an option or two...the lesser of the evils. Answered by A Ward - Fri Apr 6 14:42:15 2007 What do you think of the fast food industry?
Q. If you dislike them how would you improve the food the serve as far as health goes? Asked by Francesca420 - Thu Jul 12 21:21:56 2007 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think it's terrible. And I think we are to blame. We continue to eat there despite broad coverage of the disadvantages. As we have become more aware and they have begun to lose business they have adapted by changing their menu's to include things like milk and fruit for kids, salads for adults. Notice it took major e.coli outbreaks to encourage more chicken choices in the main retailers, and it happened very quickly. If we stopped eating there, they would poll and survey us to find out what it would take to get us back and I guarantee they would make the changes! Real, locally supplied foods, less fats and sugars, smaller portion sizes. We can take pictures of the 13 billion year old galaxies, I think the fast food industry can… [cont.] Answered by Morgan M - Thu Jul 12 21:36:23 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Food Industry" |
