I'm tring to build a blacksmith forge, how large should it be?
Q. I've gotten a lot of great designs but I don't know what size I will need. Like, say if I were to do a large sword, should the fire pit be large enough to cover the entire finished blade or just enough for the chunk of metal you start with?

A. You would build it to a size you could work. You can not work a whole sword at the same time, it will not hold the heat. so about 1/3 of the sword, would be the largest you would want. remember you will have to have a fire as big as you firebox, and a large fire box will take a lot of coke. Swords maker that I have talked to say that they can not get there money back on a forged sword, they have gone to grinding them, to keep price down, so they can make money. I would say if you have the talent to make a museum quality sword, you could get the money, but then you would not be here asking this question. Good luck to you on this endeavor, You should be able to do all you want to with a 24" to 30 " forge.

Why do we need to return to government by principles rather than by politics?
Q. But where are the principles evident in the events of this present hour? The blessing of peace is not a product---but a fruit of righteousness. God's order is always righteousness. The Bible has been telling us for centuries. When will we learn it? Peace is not compromise. It does not grow out of expediency. Peace is not a flower growing in the world's formal garden. It is rather a product of the blacksmith's forge-- hammered out on the anvils of sacrifice and suffering... heated in the fires of devotion to righteousness... tempered in oil of mercy and goodness...

Advice please? My family is insane. ?
Q. Please, if you have a moment, suspend your belief for a moment. You will most likely LAUGH after reading it, because it sounds like B.S. Maybe Doctor Phil can help me. This is MY life, and it's real, and I don't like it. I find it retarded and I'm starting over now, drama free. I'm alone right now, and feel like I'm going nuts. My life has been so crazy, and it's hard to find the strength to figure anything out. My family are insane. Except for my dad, who is such a sweet guy. He looks like Santa Claus and acts like it too. And he was building my mother a mansion (I mean this. By a lake and a mountain in beautiful British Columbia) My dad has NEVER shown any signs of craziness. He's been depressed a lot though because of the… [cont.]
