A. | | | |17 km [N] | | |___ 4 km [E] a) Magnitude^2 = 17^2 + 4^2 Magnitude^2 = 289 + 16 Magnitude = 305 Magnitude = 17.46 km b) We can assume that the angle between 17 and 4 is 90 degrees. Sin / 17 = Sin 90 / 17.46 Sin = Sin90(17) / 17.46 Sin = 0.97 = sin^-1 (inverse sine) 0.97 = 75.9 degrees Therefore, the direction is 17.46 km [East 75.9 degrees North].

Lyrica and Fibromyalgia: Has this worked for a long time for you?
Q. I have had a very good experience with Lyrica, however finding an appropriate dose level is hard. Since I have Fibro and also some severe pain at points including the right hemisphere of my skull where a car side vision mirror hit me, I have found that only Codeine takes care of bad pain days for a right hemisphere attack, however Codeine is hard to justify here in the US, but it is over the counter in Australia. I have used ultram and aleve to bridge the pain management gaps. Any tips on how Lyrica has worked for you, and how you coped with other pain issues, specifically for me, it was after I was hit by a Car ( I was a pedestrian) in 1991. I don't know if this whole issue is degenerative for me, but to stop some neurological based… [cont.]

A. I haven't had Lyrica, but have heard of others taking it with excellent results. Are you seeing a rheumatologist or a neurologist? With a head injury to deal with, I'd definitely be insisting on a neurologist. Have you asked your doctor to refer you to a pain management specialist? After so many of years of pain, it is more than justified. I have fibromyalgia as well as several other conditions, and have found that the pain management specialist is a key part of my overall health care. Other doctors are often reluctant to prescribe anything serious for pain relief, and Ultram is often about as strong as they'll go. I wish you luck in getting relief.

Chapter 1 - 'Loomings'?
Q. Call me Ishmael. Some years ago never mind how long precisely having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off then, I… [cont.]

A. In our convention, east is to our right and west to our left. North is at top and south at the bottom. Hence if you put in the coordinates, the positive x direction is pointing to the east, and the positive y direction is pointing to the north. The displacement vector d = 4.4i + 7.8j. |d| = sqrt(4.4^2 + 7.8^2) by Pythagorian's theorem let the angle d makes with x-axis to be theta: tan(theta) = 7.8/4.4, thus: theta = tan^(-1) (7.8/4.4)

The End. I need help from intellectuals!
Q. I wrote this short "thing" I don't know if it's too much of a story, but I would like your opinions... The End... In such a rush. I am in such a rush. Managing to grab the last set of clean business attire and run out. Nearly spraining my ankle as I speed down the stoop, I pause to zip my boot. Sunlight blinding me making my eyeballs ache. I reach for where my sunglasses would be if I wasn t in such a hurry. Racing for shade; oh my aching legs while the sun is making me blind. Once I reach cover from solar extremes I slow my run to a walk maybe a jog. Then I realized I was parched and without chapstick. Pursing and licking my lips for a bit of solace. Taste a bit of blood, it seems they have probably cracked and look like a dry patch… [cont.]

A. I like the concept of your writing. However, there is room for improvement. I'll use the first paragraph as an example. 1) the first two sentences are repetitive. Narrow it down to "I'm in such a rush" or "I was so strapped for time" 2) You also want to try staying on the same tense. You go from "is" to "was" and back again. It confuses the reader. 3) This is optional: Some imagery. We know there is a stoop, and that the sun is bright. But other than that, the setting isn't special at all. We also know nothing about the character. Why is she in such a rush? You have great potential. Keep it up.

Why are Chinese people so rude?
Q. This applies to most Chinese people old and young. Examples that they are rude are these: 1. Many like to raise their voice, yell or scold you when talking to you. This happens almost wherever I see Chinese people. 2. They like to put you down in your face, or talk negative things about you when your around saying your name out and laugh in their own language. 3. They have starring problems. 4. If you block their way they like manhandling, pushing or knocking you off to the side instead of saying "excuse me" and don't even apologize. 5. When you tell a worker inside a Chinese food market to get you some food behind the counter, and if they drop the food on the ground, they expect you to pay for it and eat it even though its… [cont.]

A. These are gross generalizations. Unless you've somehow managed to interact with every Chinese person in this world, you have absolutely no way of knowing whether or not all, or even most, Chinese are as you have discribed. I have experienced all of the above with people of many different races, nationalities, cultures, etc... There is both good and bad among all people, neither of which are determined by race, nationality, culture, etc...
