im a vegitarian and i need help buffing up and gaining weight. any tips?
Q. my parents are worried that i am getting too skinny ever since i went veg. do you have any tips so i can buff up a little. what high calorie things do i need to eat? i should gain maybe 5 lbs. im kind underweight. im not hungry all the time though. it so weird. i go through phases where i can go w/o food for days and theres some days where i have to eat every 30 mins. but thats kinda off subject. so any thing i need to do or eat to get better eating habits? pls. answer! that would be great!!!

A. Peanut butter is a great way to gain weight. You could also eat more eggs (assuming you are not ovo-lacto). Eating about every 3 hours is healthful. A breakfast of oatmeal and a yogurt cup, a few hours later some carrot sticks or celery and peanut butter, for lunch a sandwich,a few hours later some sunflower seeds or peanuts. Then for dinner a nice salad with a vegetarian entree.(veggie lasagna, veggie pizza..) Just remember that vegetarian means vegetable, so don't load up on carbs. (i.e. top ramen,spaghetti,etc the usual teen diet)
