Lost Wax Casting Question. If I am only casting 1 or 2 rings at a time, do I need a vacuum or centrifigul?
Q. machine? Could a strong magnet placed in the casting mold have a similar effect?

A. If it is a fairly open mold, maybe it will fill by gravity, but if you want a good, consistent fill, it must be centrifugal or vacuum. I don't think the cost of a small one would be prohibitive, maybe you could find one on EBay.

PLEASEEE HELP WITH MATH HW!!!?
Q. 1] Three casting machines can fill a mold in 10 seconds. A more efficient model can fill the same mold in 6 seconds. How long would it take all four machines to fill 70 molds?
Asked by karen - Mon Dec 8 01:21:27 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Call the time t In t seconds the old machines produce t/10 picese The new machine produces t/6 3*t/10 + 1* t/6 = 70 Common denominator of 30 9t/30 + 5t/30 = 70 Multiply by 30 14t = 70*30 = 2100 2t = 300, t = 150 Checking in 150 seconds, each old machine makes 15 for a total of 45 In 150 seconds, the new machine makes 150/6 = 25

Question about laundry (see details)?
Q. I was at work last night and a co-worker blew up a machine. I mean literally blew up a machine. I was standing 10 feet away when the incident occurred. I was minding my own business, snipping some wires when all of a sudden BOOM... the loudest noise I've ever heard in my life. It is a dye cast machine which means it molds molten metal. So as soon as I heard the BOOM my body said "Run biotch" so I did; there was fire and smoke and debris sprawled out in a 100 foot radius. My question is what removes poop stains from underwear?

A. Ok, here's the deal... if your underwear is white, definitely use bleach, but if you've got colored underwear definitely use Spray N Wash and hope for the best. GEEZ, man, learn to control your bowels! :) Just because a machine blew up, YOU are supposed to know how to deal with stressful situations! mmmwah! xoxo

A rough draft for my long unfinished poem I'm working on. Just re posting for some Actual reviews/criticisms?
Q. Up the gauntlets risen revealing smoke stacks sultry, seductive, oily, thick steel bands under the eaves flames! The cold hiss of steel on the water, leviathans of iron molded under the baleful glare of the white-heat lamps raining coal upon the dirt-stained backs of the populace, Berlin heaving under the titanic weight of love-- for lack of a better word--crumbling down upon the world, trembling in its mighty fortitude, the cries proletarian, rebirth in the streets anger underway in sewers, hollow stone lining of the decaying serpentine beast, under bridges hulking monstrous, towering and glaring under the brilliant metallic sheen of vehicles gliding over pavement unaware, in the light of capital, in the glare of hypocrisy, the… [cont.]

A. It is nice to see a poem of this length on here. I love this. It flows together nicely and the symbolism is incredible. This is heavy stuff, My mind is still wrestling meaning out of it.

Can I cast a small concrete part in a plastic mold? Should I use a release agent?
Q. Ok, here's the thing, I am going to make a vacuum forming machine to make plastic molds. Can I fill the plastic mold that I make with concrete to make say, a small ornament? Will I need a release agent? If so, what kind of release agent?

A. I have made small ornaments out of Portland cement, using candy molds. No release agent needed. After it's fully dry it should release pretty well. After i take things from the mold, I wrap them in a wet towel for 3 days to make it even stronger. .
