A. Any price comparison website would do. They let you view a product on several different sites so you can get the cheapest value. I used to use ciao, but found the site hard to navigate, now I use twenga. Hope this helped

Do cucumbers planted in home garden need to be watered once a day or twice a day ?
Q. Do cucumbers planted in home garden need to be watered once a day or twince a day ? If there are two or more new small cucumbers on one branch, will they all become fruits that can be reaped ?
Asked by peiamc - Sun Jul 9 23:22:07 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Depends on the weather. If its hot water twice a day. If you have small cukes on the vine, and want to keep them small, let them all stay, if you want bigger ones, pick off all but one on each vine. If you dont want to water twice a day, water every other or third day by trickle watering for an hour or so. That way the plant develops deep roots and doesnt need watering as often. It helps to water the hole when you plant for that reason.

What is considered a garden home?
Q. What is considered a garden home? in reviewing condo's for sale, in multi-unit buildings, they use "garden home" as a description. Is that a ground floor unit? does anyone know? thank you.

A. In general, here in Oklahoma, a garden home is one floor with small yards that are cared for by the association that governs the homes in that grouping. This means for gardeners-- very limited access for your own wants i.e. you want to grow tomatoes but the association forbids tomatoes. If you are looking at this type home, please do read the association rules, regulations and costs very carefully. good luck

Home Vegetable Garden - How Do You Grow Your Own Vegetables At Home?
Q. Tell me in short about your food gardening methods. With summer coming around, this is the perfect time to start a home vegetable garden.
Asked by Lilian B - Tue Mar 31 07:48:07 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I use a combination of vertical gardening and organic gardening to grow my own vegetables. Lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, peas, onions and beet -- I've grown them all at home. I've been into vertical gardening for the past 8 years and teamed up with my husband who's been an organic farmer for 21 years. Our methods work in tandem: A vertical garden helps you grow vegetables in a limited space (using window sill tubs or wooden towers) while organic gardening saves you the cost of pesticides.

Neem Cake protects plants and crops against parasitical nematodes. It enhances crop yield almost 10% high. You apply the neem cake with soil in the intervel of one week. And you can find the differant. And be careful while you choose neem cake. it must contain alleast 700ppm Azadirachtin content But most of the commercial traders they are not keeping that. I have bought 20MT from Parker neem company from india. they provide assured quality neem cake. you may visit them

What type of irrigation is best for a home garden?
Q. I have a garden that is 15' by 30' and I would like to but some sort of mini irrigation system in it. It doesn't have to be automatic I just want it to be more efficient that using a hose. Do you know of any specific brand or kit that I should use? Links to what you are taking about would be great. Thanks!
Asked by Summer - Wed Oct 21 12:28:49 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Drip tape or a drip hose is a good idea. You can find that at any home and garden store. There are even timers you can buy for the hose so that you don't have to turn it on and off. since you have a fairly small garden it might be cheaper to just buy a sprinkler or two. But you have to be careful not to leave water droplets on large leafed plants, like squash, during the heat of the day, this can damage the plant. That's where the timer might come in handy again, water them right at dawn.

Now that I have picked my tomatoes from my home garden, do I pull the plants or leave them?
Q. This is my first gardening experience. The tomatoes turned out nicely. But now what do I do? If I leave the plants, will they grow more tomatoes again?
Asked by OTOTW - Fri Aug 15 16:12:20 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. leave them Yes, will they grow more tomatoes Just before the fall frost pick all your tomatoes (even if they are green) then pull your plants out when the frost hits (sometimes you might get a few weeks extra growing time if you cover your tomatoes when the first light frosts hit, uncovering during the day and covering when the night temperature is 40 or below. but your all done when the hard freeze hits or the day time temp doesn't get above 55)

A. I cannot provide an extensive list, but my husband is from this area. In his place I've seen roses do very well. Jasmine is another plant that does well. Of course, marigolds do well too, but they don't smell all that good :) They supposedly help keep the mosquitoes away though.

Q. Are there any genetically engineered home garden seeds on the market?
Asked by mum - Thu Aug 9 15:55:40 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The only so far available on the market are potatoes, tomatoes, soy, long grain rice, corn (maize), rape (called canola in the US), Quest tobacco (sold in the US), cotton (used for cotton seed oil used in cooking), Hawaiian papaya. & a few zucchini and yellow squashes (courgettes). Of these, the potatoes and tomatoes have been withdrawn from the market. So probably the only ones you need to ask if they are non-GMO are corn and squash. Zucchini come from Seminis seeds a Monasanto company. I guess apples and peppers are soon
