One example is having chastity, being a virgin until u get married. Virue is a trait of your personality (it could be). Happiness doesnt come from you, you cant make yourself happy. Happiness is said to come from "above", from god, or from the spirit world somewhere in our universe. Happiness is also the result of being virtuous. It even says it in almost every main religion. The pursuit of happiness comes from the pursuit of virtue. Evil people are sometimes happy but not because they do evil but because they achieved what they wanted/believed in.
