Is there a DVD recorder with a digital turner that will unscramble all the cable channels?
Q. I've been looking for a dvd recorder that comes with a digital turner that will unscramble all the cable channels in HRC mode (not premium channels like HBO,etc). Some of you might already noticed that almost all the HD televisions come with a unscrambler digital turner built in. So why is it that stand alone digital turners like decoder boxes and DVD recorders do not seem to have this function?
Asked by trengen2 - Mon Nov 9 18:12:17 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Most any recent DVD recorder should have a QAM tuner, as well as ATSC (over-the-air digital) and NTSC (analog) tuners. QAM is the modulation used by digital cable systems. The tuners will NOT decrypt scrambled channels like HBO. The term "clear QAM" is often used to describe unencrypted digital cable signals. The first DVD recorder I looked at at Amazon has all 3 tuners.

I need to start 2 of 3 running backs in Fantasy football. Choose from westbrook turner or brown?
Q. Who should I start this week in Fantasy football at RB. I have Brian Westbrook, Michael Turner, and Ronnie Brown. I need to start 2 of the 3. Westbrook is injured, but they said it's most likely he'll play but possible with reduced touches. Turner has been solid all year and brown had a huge week 2 weeks ago. Which 2 should i start?

What are the nets for on the foul poles at Turner field?
Q. On the foul poles at the baseball stadium Turner field, there are nets inbetween the main pole and another small pole about maybe 1 foot apart. What is the purpose of these nets? I can't imagine they would do any good to "deflect" a stray ball or anything. What do you guys think?
Asked by miss_lauren7 - Sat Jul 26 00:44:49 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Because it is sometimes difficult for umpires to judge whether a ball hit near the foul pole is fair or foul, the nets extend the width of the foul pole allowing them to judge better whether balls are foul or home runs, without obstructing the view of the fans behind. Any ball that hits the net is considered a home run.

My Silicone Turner is flaking at the top edge, and I consumed the particles will I be ok?
Q. The top part is flaking and I can't afford another turner. Is it safe to keep using it. I think I ate some flakes preparing pancakes and eggs when I used the turner.

A. well huni it probably wont hurt you really since its not like you are consuming the whole thing. if you may have or think you have just had a few bits from the tip you should be just fine. They have some very nice silicone utencils at the dollar store now a days so if you have one near you go check it out and see if you can get yourself one.( for only $1 each) i nkow they are outrageously expensive every where else. if you continue to keep using it, scrub it well each time when done, this way it keeps clean and also removes any lose bits...to keep it safe...but for what its worth, check the dollar store if you can huni. take care. ~et~

What NFL team will Michael Turner start for next year?
Q. The Chargers chose not to trade Michael Turner for any compensation in next year's draft. What team will he play for in 2008-09, and why briefly.
Asked by CrashFu - Fri Dec 14 18:35:44 2007 - - 5 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Houston Texans. With Schaub and Johnson already in place, a good powerful RB in Turner would be the perfect fit. Lets face it, Green is going to be injury prone for the rest of his career and won't do much at all. He is...31? I believe and has hit that brick wall. Dayne...is Dayne. He won't ever be a number 1 back in the league. That just leaves the rookie Walker. The first couple of carries seemed impressive last night, but nothing after. Houston is a good overall team, and with the addition of Turner to their team, it could turn them into a contender. Good luck!!

Who Should I start in week 3 for fantasy football? Julius Jones or Michael Turner?
Q. I know that Turner has a sore foot that might hamper him a bit in week 3 and Jones did well last week. Also, Maurice Morris is out with his injury so Jones will be starting. Do you think its safe to say that Jones is the safer option this week?
Asked by Matt H - Sat Sep 20 12:31:37 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. This one is tough. I would go with Julius Jones. The Rams are horrible and Seahawks have no receivers so they have to run! Michael Turner might be great but we basing everything that he has done on 1 game vs. the sorry Lions. You might can't go wrong with either choice but Jones is the safer choice.

What are your thoughts on Michael Turner being signed by the Falcons?
Q. Since I am a Falcons fan, I love it. The Falcons FINALLY did something to help the team rebuild. Maybe Turner is the first step towards a winning team(which is still a long way off).

A. to reprise an earlier answer of mine: If the can anchor their O-line, it should be a good move. They are obviously going witha shot at a QB in the draft, and if they have a solid running game, it'll take A LOT off the rookies shoulders. Plus, unlike Dunn, there is no Vick connection. I think you will see the rest of the Vick supporters continue to disappear, because Dunn and Hall and the others really gave Arthur Blank a black eye last year with their shennanigans. It should be a good fit, as long as the pick up some supporting players. *I know some of the locals wanted an SEC homegrown...but honestly they need to look at some game film of McFadden from a scouts standpoint. Great in the open field...but goes limp at contact. No power.… [cont.]

Should I start Stephen Jackson or Michael Turner?
Q. So I have a dilemma this week at running back. My first RB is Joseph Addai; obviously, I am starting him. But my second starter is Stephen Jackson, who I am not sure about after his long hold-out. My other option is Michael Turner. Complicating matters, Jackson is going against my personal favorite team, the Eagles. While I try not to let fantasy and personal interest collide, I'd rather not start a RB against the Eagles unless I have to... So, whom would you choose?

For Fantasy Week 2, should I start Michael Turner over Steven Jackson?
Q. I'm a little hestiant. I know Turner had a big game and Jackson had a bad game, but I want to know if its a fluke. Turner had a great game, but a weak defense. Jackson was just bad, but he's still a top five pick. Any suggestions?

A. If you have to choose go with Jackson, don't expect Michael "the burner" Turner to repeat that performance against Tampa Bay. Yes, the G-men have a tough defense but Jackson will get plenty of looks. I also took Stephen Jackson with my first pick and now kicking myself thinking I should have taken Gore instead. But I think it will pan out, look for Jackson to put up big numbers in the receiving game, the Rams O-line doesn't look good so Bulger will be checking down to Jackson.

what is the diference between a digital turner and digital tv?

A. A digital TV has an inbuilt tuner. A set top box is a digital tuner you buy for an older analogue tv. I would assume it means the same thing, just slightly different nomenclature. Talk to the sales person to double check and if you get it home and can't pick up ABC 2 (which is a free to air digital channel) for example, take it back and give the dude you buy it off a slap... It really shouldn't be a problem however.

I still say trade for Turner since Forte's touches are gonna b reduced now that they have Cutler

Norv Turner really knows how to screw up a good team right or wrong?
Q. Marty Schottenheimer probably laughing his a## of for AJ letting him go. Cmon whens the last time you heard a coach get canned with a 14-2 record and going to the AFC playoffs. I live here in Sdiego and I can tell you this team is going nowhere with this pocked face clown at the helm. He is not a good head coach, he should of stayed in SF. There is absolutly no chemisrty with these new coaches and Turner and Hooch are a bunch of clowns!!!
