Q. There is so much poverty, starvation, disease and unnecessary death in this world. When are we going to wake up and stop wasting our money on the latest playstation or cellphone and start creating a world where we are all equal?

A. Why should we all be equal? In nature are all of the animals equal? Everything in nature is a competition for resources. If the goal is for everyone to be equal you create a free rider problem. Why should I work harder to produce more if I don't get the keep the benefit of my work? People who produce more should get to have more, otherwise there is no incentive for them to produce more. If there were not negative consequences to not producing, then no one would work. You goal, while well meaning, completely removes all motivation. So not only is it impracticle to implement, its implementation would be detrimental to humanity.
